SAMBA, Nov 18: Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria who has tightened the noose on land mafia by retrieving hundreds Kanals of Government land from the mafia in the district since his taking over has not also spared the officials involved in a nexus with mafia groups.
The Deputy Commissioner, who recently removed encroachments in the Thandi Khui area and retrieved 200 kanals of Government land has placed one Patwari namely Mushtaq under suspension for his nexus with land encroachers in the area and for tampering the revenue records.
The people of the area said that Patwari was in league with the land mafia and also asking the local residents who had constructed their houses over five to seven years back to submit the papers as the same are to be scrutinized by SDM concerned. The locals have welcomed the action of the Deputy Commissioner, Samba and assured full cooperation to him in removing the encroachments from the area.
