JAMMU, Dec 17: Pawan Kumar Gupta has been elected as new president and H S Manhas as general secretary of All Jammu Hotels & Lodges Association (AJHLA).
During annual general meeting of the organization held here today, the members elected new team of office bearers for the term 2017- 2019, headed by Pawan Kumar Gupta. Anil Khajuria has been elected as senior vice-president, Pritam Sharma as vice president, HS Manhas as general secretary, Baldev Raj as joint secretary, Swran Singh as publicity secretary while Sunil Suri as treasure.
The team was announced by ML Sharma, the Election Commissioner appointed by AJHLA for the election purpose during election proceedings at Kingsway Banquet Hall here today.
While addressing the members, the outgoing president Inderjeet Khajuria gave a resume of the problems and suggested certain measures including amendment in the constitution. Khajuria extended gratitude to the office bearers and members for their support and cooperation to run the association.
Newly elected president, Pawan Gupta thanked the members for unanimously electing him as president. He also thanked Inderjeet Khajuria for guidance and running the affairs of Association. He assured the members of his full cooperation in solving their problems.
While lauding the role of Khajuria in his lengthy tenure as president and in order to get his services in future, the new president nominated him as chairman of the Association. He also thanked ML Sharma for exercising transparency in the conduct of elections.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Rakesh Gupta, president CCI Jammu; Ashu Gupta Treasure CCI Jammu, Rajesh Gupta president Jammu Paryatn Vikas Mandal, Rajiv Gupta JPVM, Kuldeep Wahi, president Bar & Restaurant Association, RC Sharma, president, All J&K Passenger Welfare Association KL Gupta, Ashok Gupta and Gurdarshan Singh.
