UDHAMPUR, Oct 11: MLA Udhampur Assembly Constituency, Pawan Gupta today kick started black topping of roads of Housing Colony Udhampur.
While addressing the gathering, MLA Pawan Gupta disclosed that these roads were under the J&K Housing Board but the concerned authorities did not initiate the development of Housing Colony Udhampur. He further said that when he contacted the authorities for the black-topping of roads of Housing Colony, the latter refused due to the required funds. I took up this issue with the Government for the transfer of these roads under R&B Department, which is now conducting black-topping of these roads. He assured the people that all the pending demands of the people of Housing Colony will be sorted out one by one as soon as possible.
President Housing Colony, Jagdish Gupta and ex counselor Municipal Council Udhampur, Vijay Sharma informed that the roads of Housing Colony were constructed more than 15 years back when late Lala Shiv Charan Gupta was representing Udhampur as MLA and now these roads are being black topped on the initiative of MLA Pawan Gupta, who is the son of Late Lala Shiv Charan Gupta, by fulfilling his election commitment.
Earlier, the MLA was accorded a warm welcome by the locals on his arrival in the Housing Colony. People garlanded MLA and raised slogans in his support.
