JAMMU, Mar 5: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed the Governor administration to pay 7th Pay Commission arrears to all pensioners in one go by modifying previous Government’s order regarding the condition imposed on payment of arrears.
“Every pensioner’s plight is same, so the pensioners should not be discriminated on the basis of age, sex and service rendered. They cannot be categorized and their arrears should now be paid in one go in the month of April itself,” NMC president Subhash Shastri said while addressing a well attended workers’ meet here.
Shastri also appealed Governor’s administration to raise the medical allowance of pensioners up to realistic ceiling of Rs 1000 as a very meager amount of Rs 300 being paid presently is too insufficient to fulfill their medical needs. Setting up of wage head for regularly disbursement of wages to daily rated workers, besides immediate amendment in SRO 520 were other demands highlighted in the meeting.
