In view of the present position of nuclear families it is quite obvious that senior citizens are living an isolated life in their homes.
At the fag end of their life, they need an environment where they are taken care of in every aspect of their life. They need medical care along with social interaction with like minded fellows. These people have spent their lives in the service of society and now expect a peaceful life.
Their children have left them due to their jobs in many parts of the country, and abroad. These children obviously can not give them company at this stage of life. Therefore they need to be housed at such a place where they can pass their life comfortably.
In Jammu, there are a number of temples, mosques, gurdwaras and ashram where a big chunk of land is available to make pay and stay homes. May NGOs and societies working for welfare of people must initiate in this noble task.
