SRINAGAR, Mar 19: Senior political activist and Peoples Conference (PC) incharge Ganderbal Abdul Majeed today joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) here.
A party spokesman said senior political activist Abdul Majeed Mir from Ganderbal joined PDP in presence of senior party leader Naeem Akhtar.
Mir, who contested last assembly elections from Ganderbal constituency on Peoples Conference ticket, was accompanied by his supporters on the occasion.
While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, Naeem Akhter said that PDP is the only credible political platform to work for public welfare and contribute towards strengthening the cause of dialogue and reconciliation for the resolution of the Kashmir issue.
“We hope that Abdul Majeed Mir will work with dedication to strengthen the base of PDP at grassroots level,” Akhtar said adding that PDP has always emerged as the credible voice of people and has endeavoured to fulfill the interests of common masses.
Those present on the occasion were district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmed Mir, State youth president Waheed Ur Rehman Parra, additional spokesperson Tahir Syeed, zone president Ganderbal Zahoor Ahmed, G R Shaheen, Haji Gulam Mohammad Mir and others.
