SAMBA, Jan 15: In order to bring in transparency and accountability in the working of the J&K State Pollution Control Board (PCB), the board has now extended giving consent to industry through On-line Consent Management System (OCMS) in Samba and Kathua District as well.
Earlier it was started from Jammu District on December 26, 2014. Through this service the industries of Samba and Kathua also would be able to get consent at their door step.
In a well attended function organized by PCB at SIDCO Complex in Samba, its chairman, Suresh Chugh, extended this facility to the industry of Samba and Kathua. The OCMS, he said, will bring transparency, accountability and simplification of procedure and paperless working for the e-consent. He further added that with this the problems of delay in giving consent will be addressed to a large extent.
The Member Secretary of the Board, Javed Iqbal Panjoo also spoke on the occasion and said that in today’s world of IT, it had become mandatory on the part of the Pollution Control Board to accept this challenge of e-deliverance and adopt technology for redressal of the grievances of the people at large.
JN Sharma, Environmental Engineer, Head e-governance, SPCB, made the power point presentation on the initiative of the Board in implementation of e – governance in the working of the Board. He explained the salient features of online consent management, its usage and how the form can be filled up on-line by the industrialists and other related to the working of the Board.
The Regional Director, PCB, Shawkat Choudhary presented vote of thanks.
The programme was attended by all the officers, engineers and scientist of PCB besides representatives of Industrial Associations of Samba and Kathua.
