PCB organizes public hearing

JAMMU, Feb 6: As part of the process for issuance Environment Clearance for Sand Mining at Sardhan Nallah in Bajalta, J&K Pollution Control Board today organized a public hearing for block number 24 and 25 in Sardhan Nallah.
Representatives of District Commissioner Jammu, Divisional Officer J&K PCB Jammu South, A.B Jandial and Representatives of Regional Director PCB Jammu were also present on the occasion.
Locals of villages Athen, Tootan Di Khui and Phargan, who will be affected by the sand mining of Sardhan Nallah also participated in the Public Hearing and highlighted their points for consideration during mining.
A handout stated that their views will become part of the report of the Public Hearing.
Consultant who made the Environment Plan for environmental friendly sand mining was also present during the hearing and he clarified the doubts raised by the public during the Hearing.
Gurpreet Singh, Chander Singh Kotwal, Naveen Sharma, Raja Ram and officials of other allied departments were also present in the public hearing.
