PCC Cell for release of 2 months ration to migrants

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Mar 15: Pradesh Congress Committee Migrant Cell today took the Government to task for applying the NFSA to migrants saying that the Act can’t be applied to the displaced people from Valley as their relief and ration is debited to security related expenses and the Relief organization is crediting the amount incurred on migrants ration to the CAPD account.
In a meeting here, today held under the leadership of its chairman of the Cell Hira Lal Pandita grave concern was expressed over denial of ration to displaced people from Valley even on the holy festival of Maha Shivratri and the Government was urged to immediately release the ration of last two months to displaced relief holders failing which Congress will launch agitation.
The meeting has urged the PCC chief, G A Mir to take up the issue with Governor as denial of ration for last two months amounts to criminal negligence on the part of CAPD authorities.
The meeting said that the ration to migrants is given under security related expenses and they neither belong to BPL nor APL categories hence there is no fun of brining them under the purview of NFSA. The meeting demanded restoration of ration as per old scale to the migrants.
The meeting among others was addressed by Chuni Lal Kandi and Kiran Raina general secretaries of the Cell, Manohar Nath Pandita its vice chairman, Ghulam Qadir Bhat and Shadi Lal Pandita, co-conveners of the Cell, Bansi Lal Raina , M K Pandita, Ramesh Kumar Bhat, M N Labroo, Amrita Bhat, Piaray Lal and Karan Choudhary.
