PCC Cell to launch movement for implementation of PM’s package

JAMMU, Aug 23: The newly constituted Pradesh Congress Migrant Cell which held a meeting here, today under the leadership of its chairman, H L Pandita took stock of the problems being faced by the migrants.
Mr Pandita while addressing the meeting said that the Cell was constituted by PCC chief G A Mir to project the problems of the displaced people from Valley in right perspective.
M N Pandita, vice chairman of the Cell said the unemployment is the main problem of displaced people from Valley and Cell will launch a movement for the implementation of PM’s employment package in toto. He expressed concern over the delay in implementation of the package.
Mr Pandita said that the Cell will take up the issue with Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi during his visit to the State on August 26. On the rehabilitation of the displaced people in Valley the meeting said that they be settled in satellite townships.
Maintaining that Kashmir was incomplete without Pandits, Ghulam Qadir Bhat convener of the Cell demanded that immediate steps be taken for rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley with honour and dignity.
Co- convener of the Cell, S L Pandita demanded special recruitment drive be launched in the police and para military forces for Pandits at Jagti and other camps and non camp areas. Expressing concern over delay in distribution of ration slips among migrants he demanded that the same be issued at an earliest as this has been a cause of concern for Pandits.
Chuni Lal Pandita general secretary demanded simplification of bifurcation procedure and issuance of backward certificates to migrants belonging to backward areas in Valley. Kiran Raina another general secretary demanded minority status for Pandits.
Others who spoke included Bansi Lal Raina, Raj Nath Dhar, Amrita Bhat, Chander Mohan Singh, M L Labroo, Ramesh Kumar Bhat , Chander Mohan Singh, Chaman Lal Raina, K Choudhary and Mahraj Krishan Pandita.
