JAMMU, Mar 6: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee president G A Mir alongwith newly elected CLP leader Nawang Rigzin Jora, MLAs Gulzar Ahmed Wani, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar and Senior Congress leaders visited General Bus Stand here and met with hundreds of stranded passengers from different parts of Kashmir valley and other regions of the State.
The stranded passengers complained about the shortage of food, drinking water and blankets etc. They criticized the Govt. that only two Ministers of the coalition visited them but nothing has been done on the ground so far. Mir gave a patient hearing to the people and assured them that he will take up this issue with the Government.
Speaking to the media Mr Mir said it is unfortunate that inspite of having a popular Govt. in the State, the people of Kashmir and other regions of the state have been left un-attended at General Bus Stand for the last so many days. He further added that merely slogans and hollow visits will not serve any purpose. This is a high time that the Govt. must provide free means of transportation and ensure the safe return of all the stranded passengers back to their respective places.
