KULGAM, June 3: Training guns at the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for his failure to prevent attacks of mobile towers in Kashmir valley, Pradesh Congress Committee chief G A Mir today said that Congress will not allow outsourcing of State assets in any case.
Addressing party convention at Kulgam in Kashmir today the PCC said that outsourcing of
State’s assets or heritages to outside groups or persons is completely unacceptable. He said J&K is full of many assets and heritages. Any move to outsource them would affect the development of the State badly.
Launching scathing attack on top BJP leader Rajnath Singh, Mr Mir said Union Home Minister is not aware about what is happening in Kashmir. He is not in a position to say anything or realize about the threat to peace and security of the country. The happenings in Kashmir are warning signals and they are only watching as mute spectators. The activities of the separatists and other elements have increased.
PCC chief further said that State cannot afford to outsource the State’s assets to outside groups as this move will have serious consequence on the overall development of State. J&K State has the potential and talented people to manage and maintain these assets and heritages. “We have a vibrant JK TDC, Golf Development Authorities and so many other developmental authorities and assets in shape of unique Heritages, which can provide employment avenues to hundreds of unemployed youth. State Govt can generate job opportunities from the State assets provided it (Govt) is interested to do so, any move to outsource the State Assets will certainly be not good for the State and it would put the State to a great loss,” Mir maintained.
Referring to the recent attacks on Mobile phone towers in Valley, Mir expressed surprise over the silence of Home Minister and maintained that attack on Mobile services was an attack on peace and security of the State and the Country. PCC chief expressed anguish over the silence maintained by Union Home Minister and said when the Home Minister is not aware about what is happening, what will happen to the peace of the country. He said Mufti Mohd Syeed has failed to reassure the people.
Sensing a great threat to peace and tranquility, Congress leader said the attack on Mobile services will vitiate the atmosphere of peace, badly affect the tourist influx and would hit the Tourism industry in Kashmir Valley to great extent. Not only this, it would significantly increase the unemployment in the State, because thousands of people are linked with Mobile service directly or indirectly, who are earning their livelihood from Mobile services.
