PCC chief urges people to maintain calm

SRINAGAR, July 10: Expressing serious concern over the loss of precious lives and damages caused to property, the State Congress has sought cooperation from the people, especially from the members of civil society, mainstream political parties and media fraternity to end the current unrest in order to ensure prevalence of peace, besides safety of precious lives and property.
In a statement, JKPCC chief G A Mir cautioned that violence has serious implications on the progress, development and safety of the people.  He appealed youth to shun violence and not to take law in hands.
Stating that casualties from either side were highly condemnable and unacceptable, G A Mir urged the State Government to take immediate measures to control the situation as continuous unrest in the Valley is fraught with dangerous consequences  ahead.
Urging that the authorities  dealing with law and order problem  must adopt peaceful methods to bring the situation under control, PCC chief asked the forces to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with the law and order problem.
