PCR Jammu sets up helpline for earthquake victims

JAMMU, Apr 25: In view of the earthquake which has created havoc in Nepal, a helpline has been established in Police Control Room (PCR) Jammu to enquire about Jammu and Kashmir residents who are currently residing in the neighbouring country.
SSP PCR Ashok Sharma told the Excelsior that a telephone helpline has been established in the PCR Jammu for all those people whose relatives or friends are in Nepal and are worried about their welfare because of earthquake there.
PCR will be in communication with Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to trace the whereabouts of all Jammu and Kashmir residents who are in Nepal, Mr Sharma said.
He added said that people can contact the helpline at 0191-2542001, 2544581, 2452000, 2564598, 2520440 and 9419155003 to enquire about their relatives and friends currently living in Nepal.
Large number of residents from Jammu go to Nepal for pilgrimage and business purposes.
