JAMMU, Apr 17: The two day tour of Udhampur District by the Project Director (PD), Samagra Shiksha, Rakesh Magotra concluded here today.
On the final day of his tour, Rakesh Magotra inspected the ongoing Civil works and innovative labs established in various Schools of the District under Samagra Shiksha.
The PD also assessed the ground level scenario regarding Quality of education & availability of Infrastructure in the schools of the district and also emphasized the initiatives under Samagra Shiksha and stressed the importance of effectively implementing the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Policy. The goal is to promote inclusive, equitable, and context-specific opportunities for all children under 6 years old to enhance their learning capacity.
He also visited the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Tangdar, Chenani, where he interacted with the Students and listened their issues. He also asked the Executive Engineer to complete the balance finishing work within one month, so that Students may not face the problem.
During the interactive session with teachers and students, PD Samagra accentuated the importance of boosting enrolment in Government schools and encouraged teachers to deliver high-quality education.
The PD also visited the HSS Udhampur, Batalwallian and Sudhmahadev, where he took review of functioning of Astro Physics labs established by Samagra Shiksha in collaboration with IIT Kanpur and Virtual Reality Lab.
He asked the HoIs to keep these labs open for the Students of peripheral Schools falling in the School complexes and Education Zones, so that maximum utilization may be ensured to boost the scientific temper among students and assured all cooperation and full support to the Teaching fraternity and hoped for achieving the Sustainable goals mentioned in the NEP 2020, so that improvised education system may be put in place.
In Udhampur District in last few years, under Samagra Shiksha 538 works were taken up, out of which 288 works stand completed and 114 works are in progress. 136 new works are in tendering process.
Earlier, Chief Education Officer Udhampur, Geetu Sharma welcomed the Project Director at HSS Tikri.
