PDD casual workers meet ex-Minister

JAMMU, Feb 27: Casual labourers engaged by the PDD who are on indefinite strike for the last nine days, met the former Minister and senior Congress leader Abdul Gani Vakil and apprised him of their issues.
The delegation comprising of 20 members of All J&K PDD Casual Labour Employees Union apprised the former Minister about their hardships due to alleged step-motherly attitude of the Government. They stated that Rs 6.50 crore was announced by them for the then PDD Minister Shabir Khan and the Chief Minister as well about an year ago but till date not even a single penny has been disbursed to the needy people. Mr Vakil assured the delegation to take up the issue with the concerned authorities and provide them justice.
Former Minister Jugal Kishore Sharma also gave similar assurance after this delegation met him at his residence today. Chairman of the union, Sayed Mohd Iqbal was leading the delegation.
