PDD daily wagers hold protest, demand salary

SRINAGAR, Apr 1:  Scores of Power Development Department (PDD) daily wagers today protested against Government for not releasing three years long pending wages and regularization of their services.
The protesters said due to the negligence from concerned department and Omar Abdullah led Coalition Government have made their lives miserable and their family condition has worsened economically. “The Government has deceived us and our life has been made miserable due to non-payment of our salary for last three years,” said Hakeem Javaid, one of the PDD daily wagers.
The protesters accused their higher officers for pushing them to work on hard times without any life security and wages.
The protesters later tried to march towards Lal Chowk from Partap Park, but the police deployed there foiled them and detained few of them.
