JAMMU, Dec 12: Daily wagers of Power Development Department (PDD), Jammu province, continued their ‘Kaam Chhor Hartal’ on the 15th day and staged continuous dharna outside the office of Development Commissioner Power at Janipur under the chairmanship of Bharat Singh.
All J&K PDD Daily Wagers Union, which is spearheading the strike, stated that no representative from the Department has contacted the or approached the agitating Union members even after 15th days of their continued Hartal, which was causing resentment amongst them. The members expressed their determination to continue the strike and take it to its logical conclusion and if need be their family members would also come on the roads to take part in the agitation.
Union chairman Bharat Singh appealed all the Union members to remain present on December 13, 2016 for showing resentment against the authorities. He also warned to intensify the agitation in case their demands were not met with immediately.
The protest demonstration was attended by union president Surjeet Khajuria, general secretary Ashwani Mehra, press secretary Ajay Kumar, Parveen Sharma, Gurnam Slathia, Raj Kumar, Devinder Singh Bobby, Gurdeep Singh, Suresh Singh, Bachan Lal, Abhishek Jamwal, Pardeep Jamwal, Kishore Sharma, Ranjeet Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Sonu Kumar, Shashi Slathia, Bansi Lal, Bittu Kumar, Karan Singh and others.
