UDHAMPUR, Aug 4: Employees of TLMD (PDD) here today blocked National Highway (NH) outside Grid Station, Jakhani in protest demanding release of their salaries.
A protester informed that their salaries are not being issued as the account of DDO has been seized by the High Court Jammu in a dispute case between PDD and a private company named KEC.
He said that the company approached the court to get its pending money from the government and the court in turn seized account of the DDO.
The protesters said that without any fault they and their families are suffering from last three months.
A spokesman of the employees informed that due to the Court order salaries of employees of five districts are withheld but it is unfortunate that Government has taken this issue very lightly.
After getting information about the blocking of NH, SHO Udhampur rushed to spot and removed the protesters thus clearing the blocked road.
Protesters have threatened to snap the power supply in five districts if their salaries are not paid soon.
