PDD employees’ strike enters 47th day

JAMMU, Aug 14: All J&K PDD Employees Union/ Daily Wagers Union’s strike entered 47 day today.
Daily Wagers are demanding regularization of 321 Daily Wagers of Jammu district whereas only 60 have been regularized in Kathua district. On comparing with Kashmir Division, the DWs of Kashmir division has been regularized upto July 2015, stated  Arvind Sharma, provincial president of the union.
The union has appealed the administration especially PDD authorities for convening of DPC immediately, release of pending wages of Need Based employees so that they may be able to bear the expenses of their families. The union has also requested concern JEs and AEE to kindly co-operate for their redressal of demands.
It was also prayed for implementation of SRO 43 in case of decreased Daily Wagers while in service. The union has appealed Daily Wagers to remain united and present in large number regularly in Chief Engineer PDD’s Office Complex, Canal Road, Jammu till the final redressal of demands.
The union shall celebrate Independence Day on the same site of agitation to make PDD authorities aware about the injustice. On this Day, whole country is celebrating Independence Day whereas they are still not given justice.
Others present were Gul Mohd Bhatt, Vinod Sharma, Bharat Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Ajay Sharma, Parveen Sharma and Raj Kumar.
