JAMMU, Aug 31: Federation of Industries Jammu (FoIJ) has alleged that Power Development Department has failed to provide uninterrupted power supply to the industrial sector here.
In the Executive Committee meeting of Federation of Industries Jammu held under the Chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan here today, the members raised serious concern over issue of poor supply of electricity by the PDD authorities to the industrial sector. They said that PDD has literally failed to provide 24-hour power supply despite assurance to the Federation.
They said on one side, Govt is inviting Industrial Houses in our State to setup their unit with the promise of providing uninterrupted power supply but on the other hand, it failed to provide uninterrupted quality power to the existing industrial units functioning in the State, resulting great resentment amongst the stake holders.
At present the units located in the Bari Brahmana, Gangyal, Samba, Birpur and Digiana Industrial areas are suffering very badly due to unscheduled power curtailment during day time also resulting huge financial losses to the unit holders. In spite of repeated requests & reminders to the PDD for providing supply from the dedicated industrial feeders to Gangyal, Birpur & Digiana Industrial areas, no action has been taken so far. The request for the upgradation of receiving station meant for Gangyal, Birpur & Digiana Industrial Estates is still pending with the Govt since long.
Federation of Industries urged the Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh, Dy Chief Minister and Incharge Power and Chander Prakash, Industries Minister to intervene into the matter issue immediate orders for the restoration of 24 hours power supply to the Industrial sector.
The meeting was also attended by Rajesh Jain, Jatinder Aul, Vijay Aggarwal, Ajit Bawa, Romesh Badyal, Rajinder Gupta (Co-Chairmen FOIJ), SB Abrol- secretary general FOIJ, Ajay Langer convenor FOIJ along with other executive members of the Federation.
