In it’s election campaigns, the BJP had vowed and lured the people of this area of a total change in development of this area including power and water supply.Now that the party is in full fledged power, it has totally forgotten its hollow promises and instead, is treating this area quite differently in comparison with other locations. The PDD is making a mockery of its own commitments to the consumers at large.As has been advocated several times through print media, Bantalab area, falling within JMC jurisdiction has been e-metered several years back and the consumers have several times brought it to the notice of PDD authorities, but one fails to understand how the department has withdrawn the curtailment schedule of all areas within JMC fed from the same receiving station of Bantalab, but left out a few transformers supplying power to the areas of main market, and K.B Nagar, Bantalab creating a lot of resentment among the consumers of this area.
The Power Minister is humbly requested to probe into this matter and the Officers of PDD are once again requested to end up this discriminatory attitude towards this area and restore the power supply without cuts as has been done in other areas fed from the same power receiving station of Bantalab.It may not be out of place to mention that much publicised up gradation programme of RAPDRP has yet to take off in this area ,which reels under worst power scenario this year.Power cut duration is now 10-12 hours per day and it appears we are living in pre 1947 era.It is a pity that the Deptt. tries to improve the already healthy areas whereas the areas which need attention of authorities are totally neglected by the authorities.
