PDD imposes penalties on defaulters

JAMMU, July 9: Enforcement teams of Power Development Department (PDD) imposed Rs 3.27 lakh penalties on defaulting customers indulged in power theft.
Superintendent Engineer, EM&RE Circle I has appealed the customers to keep their meters and service lines in order to avoid any penal action.
He added that any violation like by-passing of meters, tampering of service lines/ extra service lines, etc amounts to theft of energy and are punishable.
If any person will be found indulged in power theft, he be punished with penalty and imprisonment under J&K Electricity Act, he added.
