PDD intensifies drive against power pilferage

JAMMU, June 3: Intensifying the drive against power theft, Electric M&RE Division-II, Gandhi Nagar of Power Development Department (PDD) under the guidance of PD Singh, Executive Engineer, conducted a total of 95 inspections in Green Belt Sub Division.
A total of four inspection teams were constituted for the purpose. The teams were headed by Sardari Lal, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) along with Assistant Engineer, Feeder managers and other field staff.
In Gandhi Nagar section, a total of 29 consumers were inspected out of which 19 were found using more than agreemented load while in Narwal section, 20 consumers were inspected and out of them 10 were found using more than agreemented load.
The team inspected 25 domestic/commercial consumers in Trikuta Nagar. Two of them were found having illegal connections and their service lines were removed while eight consumers who were using load more than the agreemented were penalized.
In Nanak Nagar, the team inspected 21 domestic/commercial consumers out of which 3 were found having illegal connections. Their service lines were removed. Two consumers’ load was found in excess and action was taken against the defaulters.
Besides, a total of 48.70 KW illegal/unauthorized load being used, was regularized. All defaulters were penalized under appropriate clause of J&K State Electricity Act.
