JAMMU, Oct 14: Vigilance Organization Jammu today caught a PDD Engineer red handed while demanding and accepting bribe.
A case bearing FIR No. 41/2017 has been registered at Police Station VOJ against Ved Prakash, son of Nathu Ram of Kanhal Bishnah, JE of PDD, for demanding and accepting bribe amounting to Rs. 5000/ from the complainant Kuldeep Chand of Kanhal, Bishnah, who had applied last year before two three departments for obtaining of licence, for flour grinding machine.
Even as the complainant had deposited security with PDD, the accused JE demanded Rs 20,000 from him for providing electric connection and asked him to pay an amount of Rs 5000/ in advance today.
On this, the complainant approached the Vigilance office and acting on his written complaint, a trap was laid in which the accused JE was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 5000/.
The trap was laid under the supervision of DySP H L Pandita, who was assisted by Inspectors Kamal Sangra, Gulzer Ahmed and Naresh Sharma.
The investigation has been entrusted to Inspector Arjun Chib.
