UDHAMPUR, Mar 31: Continuing their protest for the sixth consecutive day, the J&K Electrical Department Linemen and Workers Union held a protest demonstration, here today.
Besides seeking regularization of daily wagers, who have completed seven years in service, they were demanding implementation of SRO 381, SRO 59 and other Government orders in PDD, allotment of designation to regularized workers and DPC of employees in PDD.
They served an ultimatum of April 8 and announced indefinite strike in case the Government does not concede their demands by that time.
The protesting workers raised slogans against the PDD authorities and sought personal intervention of the Governor to look into their grievances and demands.
The protest demonstration was addressed by district president Mohd Anwar, Raghubir Singh, Karan Singh, Shishu Pal Singh, Arjun Singh, Jia Lal Sharma and others.
