JAMMU, Nov 28: The PDD daily wagers today went on strike ( Kam Chhor Hartal) and started protest dharna outside the office of Development Commissioner Power at Janipur here.
The workers led by Bharat Singh, chairman of the PDD Employees/ Daily Wagers Union assembled at Janipur office of the DCP and started protest demonstration followed by dharna. They were demanding regularization of the temporary workers, enhancement of their wages, clearance of pending dues and were seeking justice with the workers from Jammu region.
Several trade union leaders also addressed the gathering and resolved to continue their protest dharna/ strike till their demands are met. With the strike the work in many Sub Divisions and PDD Divisions, work has been affected in the region.
