JAMMU, Dec 21: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Solan, Himachal Pradesh, hosted the grand closing ceremony of the 2024 IEEE 8th International Conference on Parallel, Distributed, and Grid Computing (PDGC 2024).
The prestigious event brought together researchers, academicians, and industry professionals from across the globe to discuss the latest advancements in computing technologies.
Over the course of three days, the conference featured engaging keynote sessions, paper presentations, and panel discussions, which focused on emerging challenges and opportunities in parallel, distributed, and grid computing.
The closing ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including the Vice Chancellor of JUIT, Prof R K Sharma, Dean of Academics and Research Prof Ashok Kumar Gupta, Registrar Brigadier R K Sharma (Retd), and Head of the CSE & IT Department, Prof Vivek Kumar Sehgal.
In his closing address, Prof Pardeep Kumar, Conference General Chair of PDGC 2024 and senior faculty member of the CSE department, expressed his gratitude to the delegates, participants, faculty members, staff, and media for making the event a resounding success.
He emphasized that PDGC 2024 had served as a platform for innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
A total of 142 peer-reviewed technical papers which were presented, showcasing groundbreaking research in various fields, including Parallel and Distributed Algorithms, Cluster and Grid Computing, Big Data Applications, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Biomedical and Health and Smart Technologies.
The conference featured seven eminent keynote speakers, including Prof Fatos Xhafa from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Prof Tamas Kiss from the University of Westminster, Prof Kishore Kothapalli from IIIT Hyderabad, Dr Apurba Das from Tata Consultancy Services, Prof Kalyanmoy Deb from Michigan State University, Prof Dhabaleswar Panda from Ohio State University, and Prof D P Vidyarthi from JNU.
The PDGC 2024 conference concluded on a positive note, with experts from around the world sharing their valuable insights. The event left an indelible impact on the young minds present, inspiring them for years to come.
