PDP-a political myth exploded: Rana

Excelsior Correspondent
Kathua , Dec 11:  The Legislative Council elections have exploded the political myth called PDP and have proved that PDP was an aberration on the political scape of Jammu and Kashmir and that the people of J&K have decided to reject divisive forces who have based their entire edifice on petty political machinations, intrigues and perpetuated lies on the people, said Devender Singh Rana Political Advisor to the Chief Minister while addressing party workers meeting at Kathua here today.
Rana said “after humiliating defeat in the polls in the South Kashmir particularly Mufti’s own constituency Anantnag and Mehbooba’s constituency Wachi one is aghast to hear the PDP say that it has emerged as a political alternative knowing fully that they have been rejected and their politics has been buried by the electorate”.
He said, “it is surprising that those who could not hold on to their bastion of South Kashmir and who have been defeated miserably across the State claim a pan Jammu and Kashmir performance.” He further said the tall claims of the PDP about their increasing inroads in Jammu province are also dented by the fact that they have even lost in their two Assembly segments in Poonch and Rajouri – Mendhar and Darhal.
Rana said the coalition’s win in the present elections is the victory of a principled politics based on ideological strength, huge committed cadre base under the visionary leadership of Omar Abdullah, un-parallel era of development, a new chapter in transparency, accountability in governance, a stead fast approach on all political issues pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir and its people and above all politics of secularism and communal harmony.
He said after having failed to divide the people on the basis of caste, religion, region, sect now the Muftis are making a desperate attempt to create fissures among the bureaucracy and politicize it by making baseless statements, little realizing that the J&K bureaucracy and the J&K police have worked under the most tiring difficult circumstances with great amount of transparency, integrity, valour, efficiency and have remained largely apolitical barring a few glaring instances of politicization of bureaucracy between 2002 to 2005 due to the inept and inexperienced handling of the political leadership of the time for personal petty gains, the scars of which are seen even today.
Addressing the party workers, Aijaz Jan MLA Poonch highlighted the various welfare schemes launched by the Omar led Government for the welfare of the youth of the State. He said that National Conference is committed to the welfare of the people of the state and during the last more than three years of the Coalition Government under the leadership of Omar Abdullah has kick started many developmental projects and laid out many developmental plans to be carried out in the next coming years.  He called upon the people to come forward and join hands together in the State Government’s endeavor under the leadership of Omar Abdullah.
