PDP always empowered women: Firdous

KISHTWAR, Dec 21: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Firdous Tak today said that People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has always recognized the importance of empowerment of the women.
“PDP brought several women welfare schemes for the socio economic upliftment of the women folk during its tenure,” the MLC said, adding that a historic decision was taken by the former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti the women of the State were exempted from the stamp duty.
The senior PDP leader was speaking during a party programme, during which a newly elected woman Panch from Poohie and dozens of other women activist joined the PDP. Several senior leaders and party district functionaries were present on the occasion.
Among others, party district general secretary, Ishtiyaq Hussain Waza and zonal president, Arshad Hussain Giri, were also present on the occasion.
