JAMMU, June 16: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee chief G.A. Mir has said that Congress Party is committed for peace, progress and prosperity of the State and people and did everything to make people feel safe and progressing. Congress being an oldest political front of the country with a history of130 years in service of People has a vision for Development, Progress and dedication to work for strengthening the masses and made them self reliant.
JK PCC chief G.A. Mir while addressing the convention at Beerwah today expressed displeasure over the functioning of PDP-BJP Govt. He said people of the State would not have seen such a Govt in the State which is a house of controversies, lack of coordination between the Coalition Partners has destabilized the State to great extent, he said.
Lashing out at “Achey Din” slogan of Prime Minister at Centre, JK PCC Chief said that Modi Govt at Centre has let down the people of Jammu and Kashmir, agonizing them further in the name of relief, rehabilitation, packages, employment etc.
JK PCC chief said Congress Party being a constructive opposition want the Government to respond to people’s issues and come out with a white paper on rehabilitation of flood affected people, New recruitment policy, regularization of Daily rated workers and other problems confronting people. Coalition Govt has to answer these questions, he added.
Being a constructive opposition in the State, Congress Party won’t remain as a mute spectator to the wrong doings and anti people policies of PDP BJP Govt. He asked the PDP BJP Coalition do not waste time in leg pulling each other to benefit them and to remain on forefront in the Govt, take immediate measures to address issues confronting people.
Responding to the local demands of Beerwah JK PCC chief urged the Govt to connect Tosa Maidan with Beerwah through a trafficable road, which was a long pending demand of people of Beerwah, there is also an urgent need for setting up of Toosa Maidan Development Authority, as that will further boost tourism industry in Kashmir. JK PCC Chief reminded the people about the steps taken by the INC NC Coalition Govt with regard to setting up of Toosa Maidan Development Authority and connecting Beerwah with Toosa Midan.
Mr Mir urged the Govt to set up a Toosa Maidan Development Authority on war footing basis, as that will boost the Tourism Industry further, he also urged the Govt take measures to connect Toosa Maidan with Beerwah through a trafficable road which will help Tourists and people to reach Toosa Maidan as this road will ease their travelling and it will also prove beneficial for the people of District Budgam.
Former PCC President Peerzada Mohd.Syed while speaking on the occasion recalled the revolutionary steps taken by Congress Party and UPA at Centre with regard to overall Development of Jammu and Kashmir State. He reminded the people about UPA Govts packages for power projects and road connectivity. He felt confident that people of Jammu and Kashmir are in knowledge of revolutionary steps taken by UPA under the Leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh and Madam Sonia Gandhi.
