JAMMU, Mar 30: President of Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today asked PDP to explain to the common masses of J&K about the achievements and benefits reaped post forging alliance with BJP as the Agenda of Alliance in the initial days was described as sacred book by both the parties.
He said that common people want to know why only 22% of the funds out of 82000 crore have been released/approved during last three years under the Prime Ministers program.
Former Minister said that it is the clear failure of State Government as it has failed to reap some genuine benefits for economically backward J&K despite being in coalition with BJP. He said that both the local and Central Government has been concentrating only on announcements and inaugurations rather on tangible development. He said that a number of schemes in Social Welfare, Education Sector etc and infrastructural development have suffered a severe jolt during past three years of PDP-BJP rule.
Vakil said that PDP’s balloon of hollow slogans has deflated as the Central Government has made it clear that it has never received any proposal from Chief Minister of J&K regarding holding of talks with Pakistan. He said that PDP must answer these questions why central funding, development and dialogue suffered and were put to back burner by the Government of India.
Senior leader described the performance of State Government as disgusting and damaging and urged Chief Minister to step down on high moral grounds as people of J&K has suffered a lot and solace seems to be distant dream from them keeping in view the skirmishes on Line of Control and International Border which has made the life of people hell in these areas besides blood spilling in villages, towns and cities of J&K State has become a routine during the tenure of PDP-BJP.
