PDP-BJP Govt failed in carrying out development works: Sham Sharma

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 28: Former minister and Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma addressed meeting of active members of Panchayat Rah and Salyote.
While addressing the workers, Sham said that the erstwhile PDP-BJP Government has miserable failed in carrying out the development works in the state and particularly in Jammu.
He said even the works started in NC-Congress regime were put to standstill. The Coalition Government even failed in providing the basic amenities like power, water and other essential commodities to the people of the State.
Sham lambasted MLAs and Ex Ministers of BJP on meeting the Governor and urged him to start development works in the State. He said various schemes were undertaken by his Government earlier but these weren’t further completed and rather abandoned. He said that the inhabitants of the area wouldn’t have suffered acute water scarcity had PHE schemes started in 2013 in Manal Bangla Padoon where it has been completed 60 per cent at that time and 90 per cent in Rah Salyote village. The topography of these areas is such that the water can’t be supplied through water tankers, therefore the people are extremely experiencing hardships because of water scarcity, he stated.
Sharma said that this area has been completely neglected by the previous Government. The condition of roads has totally damaged and had made it difficult for the people to move on these roads.
While taking dig on BJP, Sham said that this party during its election campaign sought votes on abrogation of Art 370 and people of Jammu gave them massive mandate but due to lust of power BJP put this issue on back burner to ally with the PDP and while remaining in power they didn’t utter a single word for efforts being made for its abrogation.
Meanwhile, a deputation of Anganwari workers today met Sham Lal Sharma and apprised him of their burning demands and after giving patient hearing he brought this issue to the notice of Governor and requested him for its early resolution.
