POONCH, Mar 1: While criticizing State Government for ignoring Pir Panjal and Chenab belts of Jammu division, National Conference leader and former MLA Poonch Ajaz Jan today alleged that an inclusive development programme for border areas should be taken up by Government to fulfill it’s promises made with border population at the time of polls.
Addressing in a meeting of the Youth National Conference activists, its provincial president Ajaz Jan said that Pir Panjal and Chenab regions have voted BJP -PDP in previous polls but are now suffering in view of mis- governance, with ruling dispensation, hardly caring about these areas.
“Most of the vital projects started by previous Government in Pir Panjal and Chenab region have been shelved by present Government, ” Jan said while addressing in the meeting of the NYC workers, asking Government to shun its attitude and to give due development share to both these areas.
Jan further called upon the Government to start a programme for inclusive development of border areas of Pir Panjal alleging that at the time of polls PDP and BJP made big promises with people living in border belts but now they are being ignore and even compensation to last year shelling victims has not been provided.
Earlier, Ex-MLA reviewed working of party cadre in Poonch. The party workers raised several issues regarding shortage of basic amenities in the area during meeting.
