SRINAGAR, Oct 26: While appealing the people of J&K to maintain communal harmony and aged old tradition of brotherhood, Pradesh Congress Committee PCC) has alleged that `PDP-BJP Coalition’ has brought the State at the verge of disintegration.
Addressing a large gathering at Partap Park during protest here today, PCC president GA Mir alleged that both PDP and BJP have brought the J&K State at the verge disintegration due to its wrong policies. He made a fervent appeal to people of all the three regions for maintaining communal harmony, age old tradition of brotherhood and unity. He urged the people to defeat the designs of anti-peace forces harming the secular fabric of the State.
The PCC chief said that there are certain forces and factors in the State vitiating atmosphere of peace by communalizing the situation. He appealed the people to remain vigilant and defeat the designs of unscrupulous and disgruntled elements hell bent upon to harm the Communal harmony and age old tradition of unity and brotherhood in the State.
Describing Congress Party as the representative of people in true sense, PCC chief said that Congress Party being the only unifying force in the country would continue to fight against the forces harming secular fabric of the State. “It won’t allow anyone to play with the emotions of people to benefit their vested interests,” he said.
Referring to recent ugly developments encouraging polarization, PCC chief alleged that PDP- BJP coalition is exploiting people on various issues. Had there been a proper mechanism with PDP- BJP Coalition, the situation would not have taken an ugly shape on various occasions, he maintained.
PCC chief disclosed that Congress Party would hold district-wise seminars on communal harmony, appealing all sections of society to help and contribute for ensuring communal harmony, unity and age old tradition of brotherhood in the State.
Prominent among those who addressed included former PCC president Peerzada Mohd Syed, former Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din, MLA Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, MLC Mohd Muzaffar Parray, MLC GN Monga, Mohd Anwar Bhat, Amreen Badre, MLA Usman Majeed, MLA Gulzar Ahmed and Raman Matoo.
