JAMMU, Oct 11: Former Minister and senior National Conference leader Ajay Sadhotra has alleged that PDP-BJP coalition is trying to engineer communal divide and disturb peace in the State.
Addressing a public meeting at Phallain Mandal, senior NC leader said that BJP-PDP are busy in playing fixed match to create 2008 like situation of communal and regional divide for petty political gains which is very alarming and dangerous. He alleged that this Govt has totally failed to solve the problems of the people and common masses are living on the mercy of the God.
Mr Sadhotra demanded to fix support price of Paddy and start procurement of Paddy of different varieties in Jammu region also as is done in other parts of the country in the coming Paddy harvesting season. He said it is unfortunate that PDP-BJP Govt has totally ignored the farmers and pushed them towards wall. He said the farmers are selling paddy in distress. Their general condition has become miserable.
The NC leader expressed that the Govt is totally ignoring important nature of problems. The 45 villages remained cut off from rest of the country due to washing away of bridge on Nikki Tawi for more than one year. It is very unfortunate that it took more than one year to make temporary bridge in spite of the fact that funds were allocated by the then Omar Abdullah Government.
He said the BJP ministers were not in a mood to still open the temporary bridge, it was opened due to efforts of local National Conference leaders otherwise it would have taken months more to open.
National Conference leader also strongly criticized the Govt for not starting construction of new bridge for which Rs 22 crore have been allocated by the Omar Abdullah Govt. He demanded immediate start of construction of new bridge otherwise National Conference workers shall come on roads.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Subhash Sharma block president and Sarpanch, Raghubir Singh Chairman, Bishan Dass Sarpanch and Block Secretary, Baru Ram Sarpanch, Ch Jeet Lal, Sham Lal Naib Sarpanch, Karan Singh, Khajoor Raj and Master Hans Raj.
