Srinagar, Mar 28: Maintaining that the PDP never raised or talked about the resolution of K-issue when in power, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats and senior leader of the National conference, Ali Mohammad Sagar said that the party is now trying to hoodwink people of the state by telling lies and giving statements full of factual errors and distorted versions of the actual events.
Mr. Sagar was addressing a huge gathering as a part of people to people contact at Sheshgari Mohalla in the old city Srinagar. Senior leaders of the National Conference and eminent persons of the area were present.
He said that leaders of the PDP are political chameleons and keep on changing their colours to suit their petty political interests and grab power. He said that it is recorded history that their statements and stand keeps on changing with every passing day and they believe in political hypocrisy bereft of any concern for the public cause.
He said that the party while in power subjected the people of the old city to the worst form of discrimination in every sphere of life and work on various developmental projects meant for sustained development of the city was stalled and now they are trying to project themselves as champions projecting the cause of the city. He said that the people are well aware of the fact that these forces raised hue and cry when on spot recruitment to the police was conducted in different parts of the city.
Referring to the Tughlaki proposal of shifting the secretariat to the other district, Mr Sagar said that this proposal reflected they sick and discriminatory attitude of the party which always pitted a region against other for their ulterior political motives.
Besides, the party never ever raised the K- issue when in power nor tried anything for the same, whereas ever since NC came into power it has been advocated for the peaceful resolution and settlement of same for the long lasting peace and stability of the area.
