PDP to carry forward peace, reconciliation agenda: Ved

JAMMU, May 8: State general secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ved Mahajan today said that party would aggressively carry forward the pro-peace agenda to restore  lasting peace in J&K. He said that PDP would take the policy of peace and reconciliation pioneered by late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, to its logical conclusion.
Addressing meeting of the newly constituted District Committee meeting of PDP Jammu Rural,  Mahajan said that Coalition Government headed by Mehbooba Mufti is committed to solve all problems of the people. He said that since its formation coalition regime has taken a number of people friendly steps and initiatives taken by the Government has given encouraging results.
A resolution, which was unanimously passed in the meeting, District Committee said that only a leader like Mehbooba Mufti has capacity to take J&K out of the present situation. Meeting exhorted the workers to spread message to the party at every nook and corner of the State.
While highlighting achievements of the Mehbooba Mufti led regime, Mahajan said that since formation of the regime, large numbers of pro-poor initiatives have been taken to improve socio-economic conditions of the deserving lot of the society. He said that during this short period, Mehbooba Mufti, as head of the coalition regime, has taken many revolutionary steps to provide governance to the people.
Exhorting the cadre to work with zeal and commitment to accomplish pro-peace and pro-people agenda of PDP, Mahajan said that party workers have to shoulder greater responsibilities because people of the State have high hopes on PDP. Mahajan called upon the people of the State to strengthen hands of Mehbooba Mufti so that state should be  taken on the path of growth and development.
TS Bajwa, FC Bhagat, Bhushan Lal Dogra, Hussain Ali Bafa, Chatter Saini, Ajeet Singh, Chaman Lal Manyal, Capt Hazara Singh, KK Sharma, Ch Chuni Lal, Kalmosh Motton, Bharat Bhushan and others also spoke on the occasion.
