POONCH, Dec 19: Senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party Ved Mahajan (Ex-MLC) reiterated his party’s stand of equitable growth and development of all the regions of the State and said that the party even being part of the Government in the State during past, didn’t compromise on its core ideology.
Addressing a large public rally, organized by former MLA Shah Mohammed Tantray at Mandi town of district Poonch today, Mahajan said that PDP since its very inception has been pitching for dialogue and reconciliation for return of peace in the State and stood in the forefront in ensuring security to the people living in frontier districts of the State.
Mahajan further asked the people to stand united during the present time of tough ordeals and keep the composite culture of the state intact and alive. “The religious harmony, tolerance and brotherhood is the most integral part of state’s history and no person shall be allowed to cause any stir into it. When the entire sub-continent was burning in the flames of hatred, it was Jammu and Kashmir that gave a ray of hope to the entire country,” Mahajan said.
The PDP leader asked the people present on the occasion to strengthen the PDP further as the party would always remain in the frontline for restoration of peaceful atmosphere in the State and wouldn’t shy away from rendering any sacrifice for the purpose.
Ex-MLA Poonch, Shah Mohd Tantray impressed upon the people to strengthen the PDP and carry forward its agenda for the welfare of the people across the district. He asked the party workers to reach out to the people and project their issues.
Prominent among others who attended the meeting included Shamim Dar, Lala Manzoor, Bilal Makhdomi, Bashir Khaki, Akhtar Kirmani, Bashir Kamran, Ajaz Tantray, Shakil Paray, Aslam Tantray, Bashir Tantray Jameel Khan, Taj Numbrdar, Azem Khan, Haji Mohd Akram and Hafiz Rashid.
