PDP hails Centre’s decision on AIIMS

JAMMU, Aug 1: Hailing decision of the Union Government to set up AIIMS in both Jammu and Kashmir regions, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today said that this historic decision of the Centre would help in providing better and advanced health facilities to the people of the whole State.
Party observed that there is a need to expedite the process of identifying land in both the regions so as to start construction of the premier health institutions both in Jammu and Kashmir respectively as early as possible.
In a joint statement issued here today, senior leaders of the PDP welcomed announcement made by Union Health Minister J P Nadda that AIIMS-like institutions would be set up in both the regions of the State and similar facilities would be provided to both the regions.
They observed that this decision was historic in the sense that inhabitants of Jammu and Kashmir regions would be provided advanced health facilities at their door steps. They said that PDP-BJP Government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is committed to provide better healthcare facilities for all the regions of the State.
PDP leaders further said that the demand for setting up AIIMS in Jammu province was fully endorsed by the State Government because there is need of such premier health institutions in both provinces due to topography of the State.
