PDP holds protest against NC president’s remarks, seeks apology

JAMMU, Mar 4: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today staged protest demonstrations all over the State including its summer and winter capital against NC Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah for his alleged remarks against Kashmiri people.
At Jammu, the demonstrations were held at Press Club were PDP’s incharge for youth wing, Waheed Ur Rehman Parra led the protest. In Srinagar the demonstration was led by party’s coordination Secretary Ab Hameed Kosheen, senior leader Mohammad Khurshid Alam, district president, Yasir Reshi, all Zone presidents and youth leader Shuja Sarwar.
Carrying placards the demonstrators raised slogans against shame full comments made by Dr Farooq Abdullah and demanded unconditional apology from the NC and its leadership. They said that the NC leadership has defamed the people, who have been voting them to power.
They said, ” To remain in the power the NC has been exploiting people on hollow promises from last more than 60 years and now it is their deliberate strategy to defame the image of Kashmiri’s to remain relevant in certain quarters in New Delhi.”
Instead of decreasing the existing power deficit in the State, the leaders said, the NC leadership has sold the most feasible power projects to NHPC only for the chair. They also flayed the NC leadership for raising the electricity tariff five fold in the last five years.
There are serious corruption charges pending against Dr Farooq himself and if there are any thieves in the State it is the NC leadership, who has been thriving at the cost of people of Jammu & Kashmir, they added.
Similar demonstrations were also held in Anantnag, Shopian, Baramulla  and Kupwara.
