JAMMU, March 1: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today held a protest against price rise of essential commodities at Press Club.
Several activities of PDP participated in the protest and raised slogans against steep rise in price of the essential commodities i.e. cooking gas, petrol, diesel and other essential commodities of daily use which is necessity of life and not the luxury of life. They demanded reduction in prices of all these commodities to relieve the common man from rising dearness.
Speaking on the occasion, senior PDP leader Rajinder Singh Manhas expressed his concern over the anti public decision of BJP Government at the Centre. The policies of BJP Government are against the interest of poor and common people, he said and appealed the Government to reduce price of essential commodities at the earliest.
The protestors tried to move towards the civil secretariat and the house of LG Manoj Sinha but were prevented by police and paramilitary forces.
