JAMMU, Apr 21: Minister for Planning and Development Ajay Kumar Sadhotra on Sunday reaffirmed the Government’s resolve to ameliorate the condition   of people, especially the downtrodden and weaker sections of the society, living in far-flung and remote areas of State.
Addressing the gathering at village Dhatreya in Marh constituency, the Minister asked the people to strengthen the hands of the Government and contribute in the endeavours of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for  development of the State. He said the Coalition Government has registered tremendous achievements in all sectors with   introduction of numerous reformative measures during past four and half years.
The Minister enumerated the measures initiated to combat corruption and for bringing transparency in the functioning of administration, on both physical and financial sectors.
He said the strengthening of Accountability Commission and placement of its Chairman and members is another achievement of the Government towards transparency.
Mr Sadhotra cautioned the people against the nefarious designs of elements, who are hell-bent to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the State. He appealed the people to remain united and frustrate their designs while maintaining age old tradition of mutual brotherhood and communal harmony. He lambasted the PDP and BJP for exploiting the sentiments of innocent and peace loving people of the State for their petty political gains.
He said that PDP is in the state of complete obfuscation, nervousness and trying to deceit the common people by raising false statement against the success of Omar led Government and trying to mislead the people on communal basis. He advised PDP and BJP not to get frustrated over their imminent defeat in the coming elections and forget day dreaming as the present generation is wise enough to see through their mechanizations. To the demands of the people, the Minister directed the executive agency for early construction of bridge at Dhatreyal village on priority basis and assured that all pending work shall be completed within stipulated time frame, he added.
