PDP leader injured by unidentified gunmen in South Kashmir

SRINAGAR:   A ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader was shot at and injured by unidentified gunmen in South Kashmir district of Pulwama today.

Official sources said that unidentified gunmen fired at PDP district president Pulwama, Abdul Gani, at Kakpora in South Kashmir in broad daylight when he was on his way to Srinagar.

The injured, who has received a bullet in his chest and another in his leg, was immediately taken to a local hospital from where he was referred to SK Institute of Medical Sciences in a critical condition.

The gunmen managed to escape, they said, adding a massive search operation has been launched to nab the accused.
