PDP leader resigns

SRINAGAR, Sept 18: Senior vice president of ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), District Srinagar, Nisar Ahmad Mandoo today resigned from the basic membership of the party.
He resigned from the party, saying that he couldn’t “side with the bloodbath”.
Mandoo announced his resignation from the basic membership of the party in a press conference in Srinagar today. He cited civilian killings and “anti-people policies adopted by RSS backed BJP-PDP collation” as a reason for his resignation.
Earlier, one of the founding members of the party and Member of Parliament Tariq Karra had resigned from the PDP.
