PDP Migrant Cell delegation calls on Nakash, Div Com

JAMMU, Feb 16: A delegation of PDP Migrant Cell led by its  press secretary, S K Raina and Sunil Bhat its organizing secretary called on Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Local Bodies and Social Welfare Asiya Nakash and discussed problems being faced by Kashmiri migrants in camp and non camp areas with her.
The delegation demanded Anganwadi centers for welfare of Kashmiri migrants and issuing of instructions to Municipal Corporation of Jammu (MCJ) in cleaning of lanes and drains in migrant camps and non camp localities.
The delegation also demanded that the medicines be made available in camp hospitals. The Minister gave on spot instructions to the concerned authorities in this regard.
Later the delegation called on Divisional Commissioner, Dr Pawan Kotwal and demanded that the ration as well as cash relief be paid in advance to relief holders in view of Maha Shivratri festival falling on February 24. Besides the migrant employees be also paid salaries in advance.
It also demanded that essential commodities be made available on the day of holy festival and proper check should be maintained on rates.
