JAMMU, Apr 10: A delegation of PDP Minority Cell led by A K Sidha its senior leader called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), R K Pandita and apprised him of the problems being faced by the displaced people and demanded their immediate redressal.
As per a release, the delegation demanded that the Relief organization should adopt a permanent policy to settle the issues of the displaced people. It also demanded that corrective initiatives needed to be taken as the migrants have high hopes and expectations with the organization that it will mitigate the sufferings of the community.
A charter of demands was also submitted to him demanding bifurcation of ration cards in a simple way, enhancement of cash relief, delivery of timely ration, restoration of RBA status, improvement in power supply, supply of medicines and providing of other medicare facilities in camp dispensaries, disbursement of pay dues of Anganwari workers pending for last one year, enhancement of cash in favour of children from Rs 400, providing of generator and fixing of gate at Middle School Jagti, renovation of migrant quarters, restoration of roads, implementation of PM’s package, etc.
The Relief Commissioner assured the delegation that he will take up these issues with Government again.
M K Bhat (retd DySP), Sunil Bali, Durga Nath Bhat, A K Dhar, B B Sadhu, Veer Ji, Vinod Ji, Dileep Kumar, Sunil Bhat and Bansi Lal were other members of delegation.
