PDP not interested in adopting resolution on Guru: NC

JAMMU, Mar 25: Opposition National Conference (NC) today accused the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that its Government was not interested in adopting a resolution on Afzal Guru.
Soon after Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Bhasharat Ahmed Bukhari stood up from his seat to make a statement in the House on the Engineer Rashid’s resolution on Mastermind of Parliament attack Afzal Guru, NC’s Nazir Ahmed Gurezi interrupted him.
Gurezi said “there is no need of making a statement in the House as you did not want to bring the resolution as you changed the stand”.
He was supported by his senior party colleagues Ali Mohammed Sagar and Mohammed Akbar Lone. Mr Sagar said that during the draw of lots you should have also called the Member.
Gurezi said PDP was earlier crying for Afzal Guru’s body and what happened to it after coming to power.
The Minister informed the House that they have not deliberately withdrawn the resolution as there were 85 resolutions before the House and some members had given two to three resolutions so it was not proper to accommodate them all. Hence the procedure of draw of lots for selecting the resolutions was adopted and the resolution fell automatically, he added.
