PDP pays tribute to Mufti Sayeed

JAMMU, Jan 7: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today paid rich tribute to party founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on his 7th death anniversary and vowed to carry forward his agenda of peace and tranquility.
Sayeed, founder of the People’s Democratic Party died on January 7, 2016 at AIIMS in Delhi after being admitted there briefly.
While paying tribute to Mufti Sayeed, PDP leaders said that as a Chief Minister of J&K, he set an example of an accountable and transparent system of governance.
They described the party founder as a far-sighted political stalwart and an astute administrator who, during his two tenures as Chief Minister, remained focussed on securing development and bettering the lot of people of J&K.
Pointing toward prevailing peace on the borders from Kathua to Kargil, PDP leaders said that it was the result of the pro-peace policies of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
They said Late Mufti took a series of confidence-building measures and made strenuous efforts in making peace an inseparable feature of Jammu and Kashmir.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included-Amreek Singh Reen, Anil Sethi, Sukhvinder Singh, Satpal Singh Chadak, Rajinder Manhas, Balbir Singh, E. Pitter, RP Pardesi, Sohit Sharma, Surjeet Kour, Varinder Singh and others.
