SRINAGAR, June 19: Day after the State Higher Education Minister, Muhammad Akbar Lone had a verbal dual with People’s Democratic Party MLC Naeem Akhter and MLA, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat in the  District Development Board (DDB) meeting  in Bandipora, PDP workers from Sonawari today protested against the minister for his “abusive language” against the duo.
The PDP workers shouted anti-Lone slogans in the Press Enclave today for “defaming” the people of Sonawari which they said is known for giving birth to reputed personalities.
“Lone’s use of abusive language in the board meeting against the two PDP legislators has damaged the reputation of the whole area. We have decided to go on a social boycott with him. He has become a habitual abuser which is very shameful,” Yasir Reshi, PDP district President, Bandipora, said.
Reshi also said, “we will not tolerate it as it gives an impression that all the people belonging to the region possess the same vice,” Reshi said.
